    Dear All,

    I am trying to set up NTP in solaris machine. I have
    configured one mahcine to be the server and other to
    act as client.

    When i run ntpq -p after startign the xntpd

    On the server

    ntpq -p
         remote refid st t when poll reach
     delay offset disp
    ==============================================================================
     localhost 0.0.0.0 16 - - 64 0
      0.00 0.000 16000.0

    On the client machine

    ntpq -p
         remote refid st t when poll reach
     delay offset disp
    ==============================================================================
     XL012M2485 0.0.0.0 16 u 60 64 0
      0.00 0.000 16000.0
    #

    where XL012M2485 is the machine in which the server is
    running. I am not able to sync the time.

    O/p of date in server

    date
    Thu Jan 29 17:20:47 SGT 2004

    o/p in the client
    date
    Thu Jan 29 17:22:14 SGT 2004.

    Can you please let me know why I am not able to sync
    the 2 machines.

    Girish
