Hi,
I'd like to hear your opinions regarding how many CPUs
the SF15K and SF6800 systems are effectivly capable of handling.
I thought I had read somewhere that up to a certain number
of CPUs, there are no real performance gains to be achieved
due to the Solaris OS.
I currently have several 2-node clustered domains on separate
SF15K Systems (1 node-each) ranging from 12 to 28 CPUs.
I just got two additional SF6800 Systems, and will be setting up
the SF6800s as a 2-node cluster (initially 12 CPUs , later the full 24).
All my domains are bascially SAP/R3 Oracle systems.
I've heard that the 6800 is more "effective" compared to the 15K due
to the architectural differences between the two (Non-NUMA vs NUMA).
If anybody would like to share their experiences, or have any
good tips, references, on setting up, designing such systems,
I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
