Hi list,
After initial install and setup of a Solaris 7 sun4m server, the
networked sun4c diskless client booted OK. But rlogin to the client
didn't work. Trying to fix logindmux and patch the client's root file
system failed.
Now I try to reinstall the OS service from the Solaris 7 CD-ROM with the
Solstice Adminsuite Host Manager, but the process stop with this 'error'
message:
Error adding OS service 2.7 sparc sun4c:
inconsistent revision, installed package SUNWarc appears to have been
patched resulting in being different than the package on your media.
You will have to backout all patches that patch this package before
retrying the add OS service operation.
Yes, I have installed the Solaris 7 Recommended Patch Cluster on the
server.
1) pkginfo -l SUNWarc
lists PSTAMP: on998-patch20030604101514 for this spesific 'Archieve
Libraries' package.
2) grep SUNWarc /var/sadm/patch/*/log
lists 6 patches
3) find /opt/SUNWadmd/Patches -name SUNWarc -print
lists another 5 patches
I think it doesn't help to delete the OS service first, and I am not
sure how to find the actual patches and the syntax to back them out.
Now I need advice to continue.
Kind regards,
Terje J. Hanssen
What is easies, backout patches or possibly remove and reinstall the
whole package? Either methods, I now need advice and exact command
syntax to continue .........
