FOLLOW UP: onboard external SCSI port in V440 & SunStorage 3310

Hello All,

Recently I've asked about SunStorage array 3310 and onboad SCSI
controller (LSI 1030). Sad to say but I received no answers.
Even no "Out of office" replays .... ;-)
Maybe this happend due to MyDoom flood or maybe due to problems
with group mail server ...?
Anyway I'm posting the query again with additional knowledge and
issues.
First some answers to the original query. On board SCSI port
(LSI 1030) works with SS 3310. And seems quite fine. Using
RAID0 and 12 SCSI disks (72GB, 10000rmp), i got burst transfer
rates (copying big file) arount 77MB/s. Using RAID5 and 6 disks
I got burst transfer rates about 50MB/s ... So not too bad.

Now the question is: if I use additional, recommended SCSI host
controler, will I get better results ?

Other query regards using and configuration of the array itself. I hope
somebody is more familiar with this new stuff ....
I'd like to use this array attached to 2 hosts (not clustered, just
one server doing one thing, and other server doing another thing).
I'd like first server to use half of an array and second server to use
second half of an array. Moreover, I'd like to create one big logical
drive on the array (e.g. RAID5 using 12 disks) and then logicaly divide
this big drive into 2 parts (aka LUNs) and then present (map) one
part to first SCSI port and another part to second SCSI port.
But this seems imposible ... Isn't it ??? Looks like any logical drive
has to be fixated to one and only one SCSI port ... I can do two
logical drives (2x RAID5 with 6 disk each), and then map one logical
drive to first SCSI port nad another one logical drive to second
SCSI port but this is not the same (one server needs only space for
keeping rarely read only data, second server needs as much speed as
possible)
To be honest I can say I've read all docs (about 6 PDFs) on sunsolve
and I can't figure out ... It seems that meaning of "SCSI controller" and
"RAID controller" are mismatched ...
Other query: the array can be user with "single SCSI bus" or "dual SCSI bus".
What does it realy mean, and why this makes change ? I do not plan to use
any additional JBOD box ... The array has one RAID controller ...
NB: just note: the interface of SS 3310 is very similar to that on Infortrend's
EonStor arrays ...

Sorry for next maybe naive question:

I've just got V440 & 3310 SCSI RAID array. I plan to connect them.
V440 has external SCSI port (probably U320 LVD LSI,1030).
S3310 has U160 LVD interface.
According to S3310 web specifications, V440 is not "supported" host
for S3310. According to S3310 Release Notes
( http://docs-pdf.sun.com/816-7292-17/816-7292-17.pdf)
V440 is also not supported.
According to above Release Notes, supported host adapters are:
SUN PCI Dual Ultra3 X6758A (for Solaris) or Adaptec 39160 (for Windows).
Nothing about LSI 1030 ...
So the question is: will they (v440 & S3310) talk each other and
will it be good solution. Or should I order additional PCI card (X6758A).

Also: Recently, there was a query about S3310 "dual host" connected to
two V440. But I've not seen a summary. Maybe I missed something because
of MyDoom ??? So, is it possible? Which mode is preferred/better:
single bus or dual bus? Any other trick of trade?
