IO monitoring tool

    I am trying to compare the performance of VxVM with
    dmp to Sun Volume Manager with STM (Sun Traffic
    Manager) on a 4800 which is attached to a Hitachi
    9910.
     Could anybody suggest a toll to generate
    random/sequential I/O amd also a tool to monitor it
    down individual paths ? I have tried iostat but was
    wondering if there is a tool which could provide me
    with more info.
