mySQL version 4.017 install failure

HI everyone
I am trying to upgrade mySQL from 4.01-alpha to 4.017.
The server is a Netra-T1 that's running ...
gcc version 3.2.2
GNU Make 3.80
I have successfully upgraded mySQL on an E450, but I am seeing the
following errors on this Netra-T1 server.....
