works in graphic mode but without the warning "using short name"

    Hello

    I would like to help me. I have a DELL LAtitude d505 with solaris 9, the
    graphcs part is very good with yours recomendations of install like VESA.
    Now i have the message error
    "unable to qualify my own domain (cuenca) --- using short name"

    But when i change en /etc/hosts putting an alias with a domain,(cuenca.net.ec)
    the warning disappear. but when i reboot i can,t use the graphics part, and i
    only change in the /etc/hosts. when i delete the alias then i can work in a
    graphics mode like cde but the other error (short name) return.

    plase give me advice to resolve this conflict
