SUMMARY Solaris 2.6 on new Sun Hardware

    Thanks for all that responded.

    Solaris 2.6 and also Solaris 7 will not run on new Sun hardware. In
    fact, I learned that in many cases if your version of Solaris 8 is too
    old, it will not run on the newer hardware either.

    Solaris 2.6 has reached end of life, but its end of support life will be
    July 2006.
