    hi

i have a 4 mm tape drive of HP Surestore 6000 on e3500,running solaris 8
patch level 12.the tape drive is getting detected at "ok probe-scsi-all"
but after "ok boot -r" or numerous "devfsadm" the tape drive isnt getting
recognised by solaris...then i tried out

    # cd /dev/rmt

    #rm 0*

    #devfsadm -C -c tape

now it recreates the files /dev/rmt/0*

    but

    #mt -f /dev/rmt/0 status

it waits for sometime then gives "no tape loaded or drive offline"

    i have tried it with "dds1" , "dds2" , "dds3" tapes & changed the scsi
ports to which it is connected on the server.

am i missing out on anything like editing "st.conf" etc.this server is
also having "sun L400 & L9 storage" attached but on differnt cards.

    regards

    ashish
