Hello all,
Thank you all those who replied and asked to configure me the Smart relay
host in sendmail to forward mails to virus scanner.
But when I did that , the mails bounced back saying Host unknown (Name
server: mailgateway.cdfd.org.in: host not found) .
I have included the mailgateway in /etc/hosts file.
I think I have to put in the DNS also.
We are maintaining Primary DNS at our end. but local name resolution is
through /etc/hosts file only.
I did not assign any Public IP for mailgateway.cdfd.org.in
So if i give the private IP in the DNS will it be resolved.

so if i give an entry as
IN NS mailgateway.cdfd.org.in.
mailgateway.cdfd.org.in. IN A 172.16.0.10
will the mails be routed to the mailgateway(virus scanner).
Please help.
