    Gurus,

Does anyone know Sun's plans/rumors/pricing about Sparc IV on 4CPU
    machines?

The E2900 is the lowest end server offerred right now, and it requires a
minimum investment of $90K or so.

When Sun announced Sparc IV they said something like "Sun will release
five UltraSparc servers in the coming months, ranging from four-way
systems to a server with 72 processors". I think they also claimed that
Sparc IV will be cheaper, or at least not more expensive than III.

Also, can someone point to whitepapers comparing Sparc II/III/IV,
especially for database apps (preferrably OLTP).

    Thanks.
