I have a Solaris 8 nisplus server. I'm trying to change a regular users
password logged in as the user with this command but it's giving me
permission denied errors. Anyone have any ideas as to why?

    machine1{davetest}/home/davetest[7]% nispasswd
    nispasswd: Changing password for davetest
    Enter login(NIS+) password:
    New password:
    Re-enter new password:
NIS+ password information update failed while talking to NIS+ passwd daemon
passwd (NIS+): Password information update failed
    Permission denied
    machine1{davetest}/home/davetest[8]%
    machine1{davetest}/home/davetest[8]% passwd -r nisplus davetest
    Enter login(NIS+) password:
    New password:
    Re-enter new password:
NIS+ password information update failed while talking to NIS+ passwd daemon
passwd (NIS+): Password information update failed
    Permission denied
    machine1{davetest}/home/davetest[9]%

    Thank You
