Okay,
Here is the scenario.... migrated NISPlus user data to LDAP...
servers and some clients are Sol 9, no problems between these, a few hosts
are Solaris 8, and they need to stay
Solaris 8, I can login to these machines using LDAP Auth, but (and this a
big one) the users NFS home directories dont come with them. So I get a No
Directory! using / as home type
message. I realized early on that Sol 8's LDAP client was funny after
looking at the ldaplist output and comparing and reading on it ad nauseum, I
proceeded to make a separate profile for
Solaris 8, this got my boxes logging in.... The profile has mappings that
should (in my opinion) allow the Sol8 to see the auto_home data... but when
I do this an
# ldaplist auto_home
on Solaris 8 the output is:
ldaplist: object not found
on Solaris 9 it is:
dn: auto-mountkey=xxxxxx, automountMapName=auto_home, dc=yyy, dc=zzz, dc=111
.
.
.
n
so obviously something is wrong with the mapping in my profile...
I am curious if anyone on the list has run into this problem and how they
solved it in their Sol8 profile
Thanks...
