Tipping from a SunBlade 150 loses characters

    Hello,

       I'm having difficulties tipping from a SunBlade 150. The symptoms are
    the loss of several characters at the prompt.

       For instance, I get the following:

         odyssey console

       instead of:

         odyssey console login:

       It's a pain! I'm running Solaris 9 12/03 and relatively recently
    patched at 117171-02.

       Looking through the archives, I've seen that others are experiencing the
    same problem, but as yet, I've not seen any possible solutions.

    Thanks for any help or insight into the problem.
