    Hi Sun Managers...

I'm working on a system that just came into my area of responsibility.

    It's a pair of E4500s running Sun Cluster 2.2, Solaris 7 (patch 23). (I
plan to upgrade it to Solaris 9, but that's a longer term project.) Using
    StorEdge D1000s for external storage.

My immediate goal is to just get this thing up to date while I plan the
    upgrade and re-architecture.

I've done the initial round of research, READMEs on the patches, checked
with my local circle of gurus, but I thought I'd go one more step and ask
here.... so far, the advice I get is goes like this:

Freeze the cluster (prevent any auto failovers)
Take one side down to single user mode
    Begin patches
    Reboot
    Continue any additional post-reboot patches
Bring the system back up to runlevel 3
    Sanity check it
Migrate processes over to the patched server
    Do the other side
    Unfreeze the cluster.

Anyone have any differing advice? Anything to look out for?

    Best,

    Angelo
