    Gurus,

For two days in a row, one loop connected to my A5200 from an E4500 has been
going offline. /var/adm/messages shows the output listed below. Yesterday,
rebooted the A5200 and the loop came online again. I resynched the disks
and went on to my other projects. However, as the log shows, the loop went
offline again leading me to wonder what is failing. I have looked around
and in the archives and found others who posted similar problems but only a
few summaries where others suggested replacing the fibre cables and making
sure firmware patches are current. My question: if the fibre cables needed
replacing, would one bad fibre cable cause the entire loop to offline such
that both GBICs show as disconnected? This makes sense in the idea of a
"loop" but I wanted to get some input from the more experienced. I don't
think a firmware patch would be the case because the system hasn't had any
problems previous to yesterday. Additionally, is there a way of knowing
which fibre cable to replace? Thanks in advance!
