I am trying to install a perl module on solaris 9. I keep getting this
    error:

    cc: unrecognized option `-KPIC'

I installed gcc from sunfreeware.com and I removed the original 'cc' and
'make' and put the new /usr/ccs/bin/make and /usr/local/bin/gcc in the path.
    But still getting the error.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Daniel
