E450 and D1000 setup questions

We have an E450 running Sol 8, that has attached a D1000 with 8 each 10K 9.1
GB disks in it. We want to setup the disks and manage them through a disk
management application.
In regards to these bunch of disks;
1. What is the simpliest method to get them up and running as integral part
of the e450 system?
2. What would be the suggested mount location of netwark share?
3. What application would be fast and easy to manage them?
