    Dear list,

    With my apologies I want to correct my original post as follows to remove
    confusion. Thanks to Eric Voisard for pointing that out. My problem is on
    the server side so it has more to do with sac or ttymon's usage of /var.

    I'm just posting the changed part. (If anyone's interested I'll send
    her/him my original post.)

    ======================================================================

    Could someone tell me what directories (under /var) sac or ttymon uses,
    for an incoming "tip" connection?

    If those files were "mv"ed to another disk and "ln -s"ed (symlinked) back
    to /var, what is the proper way to restart related processes to have them
    recognize the symlinking?

    =======================================================================

    Thanks.
