    Hi all,

The place I am working at has put this proposal in front of me. There
isn't a problem per se at the moment - I just want to try and avoid one
    happening!

    Solaris server 1
    9TB netapps file system
    Containing 9,000,000 files 100k each
This file system will be shared through NFS

    Solaris server 2
This server will NFS mount the 9TB file system over a gigabit network.
It will have some sort of application that will presumably access these
    files.
But I have no idea what sort of throughput there will be.
What I do know is that the files will only be read - no writing will
    take place.

Has anyone else on the list tried anything like this and what were the
    pitfalls?

Sorry its all a bit vague but this is all I have to work on at the
    moment.

    Cheers,

    Anthony
