question with ufsdump problem

    When , running ufsdump script to dump / partition on a local solaris 8 sparc
    system to a remote solaris tape drive, i see some ufsdump warning due to bad
    sector error on local system backup log file then, see local system crashes.
    why, how to avoid the crash?.
