LDAP Difficulties

Dear Sun Managers,
We are using SUN One Directory Server 5.2 for LDAP here. We have had
some trouble with the Server which we know is over burdened (working
on getting the Proxy server to work but that is a different question)
We have been seeing a high rate of TCP resets on the servers that
tend to use a lot of directory services the mailserver and the
primary login machine. We also have had some failures that have
required the LDAP server to be rebooted. (Well that was the quick
solution -- with that service down all the operations seemed to hang.)
Any suggestions? I know this isn't much to go on.
