Changing NIS+ root password more info

    A little more info.

    Years ago it was recommended to do a

    # passwd
    # chkey -p
    # keylogin -r

    to change a root NIS+ password or the root password on NIS+ clients.

    The /etc/.rootkey file doesn't get modified with the chkey -p or the keylogin -r
    which is good.

    Is this still the case today?

    It was also mentioned that changing the root masters server could cause
    other complications and make is to that the clients can't contact
    the server after the password change.

    chkey -p will Re-encrypt the existing secret key with the user's
               login password but it won't change the public keys
               which can cause communication problems with the clients.
