system not booting

    hi all,

     I have a ultra -60 machine which is not booting.I am
    able to boot in single user mode ,but when i try to
    boot in init 2 or 3 it stops after volmgt starting and
    the systems hangs .It doesn't look like a hardware
    problem.
        I have put echo in the rc scripts after S92*
    ,which tells that the services has started.It used to
    hang after executing the ab2(answer book) script.I
    have moved the corresponding script from the
    rc directory,now the systems skips the answer book
    script but hangs after displaying
      System ready.
    Any clues...
