    Hi All,
I have a question for you.

When I create the new directory, the link count become 2 (ls -ld
    /directory_name).
I think it is 2 due to . and .. directories. If it is, why the link count
    points these direcotry?
When I create the new subdirectories under this directory, the link count
increments by 1 for every sub directory
in this directory. However, when I create files under this directory, the
link count count is not effected.
why? what the link count means for the directory? For the file, Information
in each inode keeps count of the number of file names
associated with it. It is okay. After creating file and create hard link to
that file, the link count is increasing.
It is logical to me. However, I could not understand the meaning of the link
    count for the directory.
Would it be possible for you to explain this to me?

    Best regards,

    Asiye Yigit
