Hi Managers,
I was trying to produce an error code from "patchadd" while installing
patches on a SUN system with 5.8 and 5.9 OS on them respectively.
I installed an already existing patch on both the systems (thinking
that I would receive an EXIT CODE but the message that appeared was,
# patchadd 106040-03
Checking installed patches...
Patch 106040-03 has already been applied.
See patchadd(1M) for instructions.
Patchadd is terminating.
This seems like an EXIT CODE #2 which says
Exit Code meaning
2 Attempt to apply a patch that's
already been applied
My question is, How can we produce an error from "patchadd" which
mentions the EXIT CODE? Is there a specific version of patchadd which
produces the EXIT CODE ?
I would really appreciate any help.
Regards,
Aijaz Ahmed
