    Just installed an 6500 and did a watch-net-all:

    Two significant issues: the middle LED (yellow) on the front panel is
    flashing continuously and the "Looking for Ethernet packets" stage ran
    very slowly and I stopped it after several minutes with only 4 dots
    having appeared (previously it ran quickly and I stopped it after a
    couple of dozen dots).

    The conversation is as follows:

    {0} ok watch-net-all

    /pci@2,2000/pci@2/network@0

    Internal loopback test - succeeded.

    Link is - up

    Looking for Ethernet packets.

    '.' is a Good Packet. 'X' is a Bad Packet.

    Type any key to stop.

    ......

     /pci@2,4000/SUNW,hme@1,1

    Internal loopback test - succeeded.

    Transceiver check -- failed.

    {0}

    Any one seen this error before?....Bad packet and transceiver fail?
