init 0 not working

Hi Gurus,
I anm having SF V890 server with solaris 9 installed on it .The patch level and the OBP is latest and up to date but the problem is that when i issue the command init 0 as root it waits for some time and again comes to the command prompt (hash prompt) and then nothing happens.So i am not able to get the server to OK prompt using this command.
Has anybody come across the problem?
Can anybody help in this case.
