have Netra-T1 work with IDE-disk(s) ?

Hi,
we have an empty Netra-T1 here, and noticed that the motherboard has a
48-pin IDE connector.
Which makes us wonder if we could use that connector to install a
low-cost IDE disk in it and boot from it ?
