All, I killed the process ID that was writing to the log and the disk space
was available again. Thanks for your help

    All,
I removed a log file that was in /etc while there was still a process
writing to it and du shows its gone but df shows it still taking up space.
I know the process IDs that were writing to it when I deleted it.
Anyone have any ideas on recovering the space without rebooting?
