    Hi

    We are running solaris 9.
The /var/adm/messages file has not been written to since Feb.
Initially the syslogd was not running so started it up.
It logs one message in the file and nothing more after that

The permissions of the file is as follows
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 56 Jun 28 10:54 messages

The entries in the syslog.conf is the default conf file from installation.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this

    Thanks
    sherona
