    Folks -

After having a disk failure on an A3000 array )attached to a 420R running
Solaris 9) with SRS NetConnect 3.2.1 (the newest version), we realized that
SRS NC did not notify us that the physical disk was bad. It would have only
notified us if the LUN served up to the OS was bad. Since the mirror never
    failed, no notification was sent.

It turned out that SRS NC 3.2.1 does not support the A3000 arrays any more.
    SO...

Does anyone know a free or "for-purchase" alternative to SRS that will
notify us if a physical disk fails in an A3000?

FYI - the only Sun arrays SRS NC 3.2.1 will support with discrete device
    monitoring is:

    > > Sun StorEdge 3120 SCSI JBOD array
    > > Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI RAID array
    > > Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI JBOD array
    > > Sun StorEdge 3511 Serial ATA array
    > > Sun StorEdge 3900 series
    > > Sun StorEdge 5210 NAS
    > > Sun StorEdge 6120 array
    > > Sun StorEdge 6130 array
    > > Sun StorEdge 6300 series array
    > > Sun StorEdge 6900 series array
    > > Sun StorEdge Network FC Switch-8 and Switch-16
    > > Sun StorEdge A3500-FC array
    > > Sun StorEdge A5000 array (14 slot)
    > > Sun StorEdge A5200 array (22 slot)
    > > Sun StorEdge D2 Sun V880
    > > Sun StorEdge T3 array (F/W 1.17 or greater)

    Thanks!
