Their systems are configured to email me with status or completion alerts - these hit a mailbox and rules sort the mail into successful/exceptions, failed or no tape categories.... ... Rudimentary but it works....for those servers that send mail. ... Ideal world would be for a script/app that parses the contents of the logs mailbox, checks the email subject/body and assigns a red light for failed/missing mail, green light for success/exceptions and a yellow light for no tapes. ...
