e450 : format doesn't see all the disks

    gday,
       i inherited the task to admin an e450 which is
    running fine. physically it's fully loaded with 20
    disks, no volume mgr used to manage the disks though
    but when i issued 'format', only 17 disks were listed.
       where the other 3 gone? how do i get them back?
