    All,

    I am trying to install a Qlogic HBA (QLA2340) into an E450 which already has
    4*SCSI cards installed. I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers
    from Qlogic, but they refuse to bind to the card, thus rendering it useless.
    The Sun Driver (for the QLC2200) seemed to find and attempt to bind to the
    new card, but being the incorrect driver, it didn't work properly. Has
    anyone else seen such an issue? I have tried different PCI slots, different
    cards, basically stripped the machine back to nothing and I still cannot get
    them to work. I am wondering if I need to upgrade the OBP in the server,
    but not sure what the minimum I would need is to support such a HBA. The
    server is running Solaris 9 (although in it's previous life it was running
    Solaris 7 and had the exact same issue), with a slightly older (to stay
    inline with our other servers running Sol9) patch set (i.e. somewhere around
    Feb/March this year).

    FWIW I have also installed the Sun SAN_4.4.6_install_it package.. I have a
    Sunfire 480 with identical HBA and Solaris installation which has no issues
    using this card..

    Any help appreciated, I am just about sick of it now!

    Regards
