Hi sunmanagers
Yesterday I recovered an E450 (running Solaris 5.8) that required an fsck to
bring it back.
After a reboot, the primary hme0 interface is being plumbed with 127.0.0.1
rather than the correct ip address.
This box has been rebooted numerous time perfectly in the 4 years I've had it
in service.
I can ifconfig the hme0 IP address to the correct one after bootup and the box
seems to work perfectly.
I do have an issue with a product known as Netcool however. The license
manager for Netcool requires the IP address to be plumbed on bootup. If I set
the ip address to the correct one after bootup, the license manager fails to
start, complaining of an incorrect IP address (even if I restart this
process), as it seems to bind to the original address of 127.0.0.1!
I can only assume I have a corrupt file which is causing the incorrect
plumbing of the interface, but not sure where to look. dmesg doesn't seem to
report anything useful either.
Any ideas?
I'll follow it up with a summary
Thanks
Andy
