drive will not mount

Hello,
I am a Sun/Solaris newbie.
I have a Sun Sparc 10 with Solaris 2.6.
The system has 2 internal, and 2 external,
hard drives with an external CD ROM drive
and a Tape drive drive all attached to the
same controller (c0).
Both external drives have several slices
(partitions). Each external has the same
fault whereby one of their slices (has data)
cannot be mounted. The other slices can be
mounted. I have tried "fsck -o b=#####".
