Finding Network Interfaces Available ?

    Hi all,

    Something frustrating. To find all available interfaces on FreeBSD I
    would simply do either:

    1. #grep -i ethernet /var/run/dmesg.boot
    2. #ifconfig -a

    In solaris if the interface is not plumbed I cannot see anything via
    ifconfig(1M) or via /var/adm/messages. WTF ?!?!

    Question: How the do I see what interfaces are currently
              available on Solaris ?

    OS: Solaris 9 12/03
