Rsync error

    On a pair of 880 running Solaris 9 and rsync version 2.6.5 we are getting
    the following error message in a set of logs we generate ` rsync error:
    unexplained error (code 255) at main.c(1173) '.

    I did a search and got a few threads talking about similar error messages.
    Some date back to 2002. Some indicated that is may be network hiccups and a
    couple said that it may be data corruption.

    I was wondering if anyone else has had and experience with this error
    message.
