    Trying to network boot a V120 to install Solaris 8 and I'm not getting
    anywhere. The boot server is an OpenBSD machine.

    On the V120 I type 'boot net - install', and end up with:
    Executing last command: boot net - install
    Boot device: /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/network@c,1 File and args: - install
    SunOS Release 5.8 Version Generic_108528-20 64-bit
    Copyright 1983-2003 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All rights reserved.
    whoami: no domain name
    rtioctl: kstr_ioctl failed: error 128
    whoami: couldn't add route: error 128.
    WARNING: nfsdyn_mountroot: NFS3 mount_root failed: error 128
    Cannot mount root on /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/network@c,1 fstype nfsdyn

    panic[cpu0]/thread=10408000: vfs_mountroot: cannot mount root

    Now, on the boot server, I'm running mountd with debugging on and it
    says that the client mounted the root share fine.

    Got mount request from 192.168.121.14
    rpcpath: /home/solaris/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot
    Mount successful for /home/solaris/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot by 192.168.121.14.

    Using tcpdump I see a lot of:

    xid 0x419 reply ok 28 lookup ERROR: No such file or directory (ttl 64,
    id 43635, len 56)

    But I haven't been able to tell what it's looking for that isn't there.

    I've also tried just sharing the Solaris 8 CD over NFS, but same problem.

    Alternately, I've tried using the scripts that come on the Solaris 8 CD
    (on a Solaris machine). And it hangs after loading the miniroot file.
    bootparamd reports:
    mibget getmsg() 17 returned EOD (level 0, name 0)
    interface_addr = 192.168.121.15.
    interface_mask = 255.255.255.0
    14 records for ipRouteEntryTable
    get_ip_route: no route found for client
    Whoami returning name = v120, router address = 0.0.0.0

    I've also tried using Solaris as the nfs server and the OpenBSD machine
    as the tftp, rarpd, and bootparamd server but I get the same "cannot
    mount root" error.

    Below are various config files. I've had many many different revisions,
    but this is how it currently stands while using Solaris as the boot server:

    /etc/hosts:
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    192.168.121.15 ultra2 loghost
    192.168.121.14 v120

    /etc/bootparams (first line wraps, v120 on same line):
    v120
    boot=192.168.121.15:/cdrom/sol_8_hw503_sparc/s0/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot \
             install=192.168.121.15:/cdrom/sol_8_hw503_sparc/s0 \
             rootopts=:rsize=32768 boottype=:in

    /etc/ethers:
    00:03:ba:94:5f:06 v120

    /etc/dfs/dfstab:
    share -F nfs -o ro,anon=0 /cdrom/sol_8_hw503_sparc/s0

    Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    Chris
