    Our configuration is:
     - hw: Sun sparc E250, Overland LoaderXpress SuperDLT 10slot
     - os: Sun Solaris 8 (with latest patches)
     - sw: Legato Networker v6.1.2

    The problem is the line

        Volume "<volname>" on device "<devname>": Block size is
        32768 bytes not 131072 bytes. Verify the device configuration.
        Tape positioning by record is disabled.

    I know that the problem is known and solvable, and we have solved it
    about two years ago when we installed the software for the first time,
    but ... now it is still present, it's misteriously reappeared and ... no
    way ... it's a ghost, and Ghostbusters are no more working.

    My st.conf has the following two lines added:

    ---
    tape-config-list =
        "QUANTUM SuperDLT1", "OverlandSuperDLT1", "sdlt1-data";
    #sdlt1-data   = 1,0x36,0,0x1d639,4,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0;
    sdlt1-data   = 1,0x36,0,0x19639,4,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0;
    ---
    The first line is from Overland/Quantum; the second one accounts for a
    recent Solaris patch: Sun Microsystems has removed support for
    ST_BUFFERED_WRITES bit 0x4000 generating an error in boot.
    I read docs from Legato, Overland, Quantum, Sun (just in alpha order) but
    anything's help us. I have upgraded firmware on tape drive, applied Sun
    patches, tried different st.conf configuration, but the problem lives.
    The amazing thing, and surely intolerable, is that it was defeated, and
    after two years risen again.
    The questions now are simple:
     - more important, is there some way to kill him ?
     - less important, is there some way to check/debug device
       (/dev/rmt/0cbn) or ask him block size ?
    Thank you very very much for any help.
    Marco Broglia.
