    Hi all,

I've got a bit of a hairy one here. I have some systems that require the
remote display of Japanese Character using CDE & VNC.

I currently have a Solaris 2.6 Japanese Edition installation on a E450 and
    a Solaris 10 (with all geo's installed) on a E4500.

When bringing up dtlogin via VNC, the default locale on the E4500 is en_AU
(English, Australian) and all the text is fine. However if I go into the
"Options" button and select ja.JP-UTF8 or any of the other Japanese sets,
no font's display. I can log in, and again once in CDE, no fonts display.
This happens both with VNC and using Cygwin/X connecting like: "X -query
    e4500ja -fp tcp/e4500ja:7100".

I have read as many internationalisation documents on docs.sun.com, and
found a few 'interesting' sunsolve doco's too, as well as a few sites by
googling, however nothing gives a step by step guide as to how to do this.
Also I have not been able to find any internationalisation doco on VNC
    either.

Anyway, I have confirmed that ja is fully installed correctly by doing the
    following:

    e4500ja# localeadm -lc -q ja

Then we connect to the system using VNC as follows:

    remote_host$ ssh -L 5900:127.0.0.1:5910 user@e4500ja
Then start up a vnc session to 127.0.0.1:5910.

The relevant lines in /etc/dt/config/Xservers looks like this:

       :0 Local local_uid@console root /usr/X11/bin/Xserver :0 -nobanner
       :10 Local local_uid@console root /opt/sfw/bin/Xvnc :10 -geometry
    1024x768 -depth 8

And I have run sdtfontadm and included
    /usr/openwin/lib/locale/ja/X11/fonts/(TT,TTbitmaps,75dpi) paths in the
    font path.

I've rebooted since doing all this with no luck.

Any further suggestions? I'll be sure to post a solution summary.

    Thanks and Regards,
