    Hi,

I would like to clone solaris installations - e.g. I would like to
remove one disk from a complete installation from a raid1 device,
put it into another machine, boot from it, sync it up in raid1 again
    with a third disk.

I am using solaris 10 and I am not quite sure about the right way to do
    this.

    I have the following metadevices:

    root@datapool:~# metastat -p
    d60 -m d61 d62 1
    d61 1 1 c0t0d0s6
    d62 1 1 c0t1d0s6
    d50 -m d51 d52 1
    d51 1 1 c0t0d0s5
    d52 1 1 c0t1d0s5
    d40 -m d41 d42 1
    d41 1 1 c0t0d0s4
    d42 1 1 c0t1d0s4
    d30 -m d31 d32 1
    d31 1 1 c0t0d0s3
    d32 1 1 c0t1d0s3
    d10 -m d11 d12 1
    d11 1 1 c0t0d0s1
    d12 1 1 c0t1d0s1
    d0 -m d1 d2 1
    d1 1 1 c0t0d0s0
    d2 1 1 c0t1d0s0
    root@datapool:~#

Question #1: what is the right way to remove the disk? do I have to do a
metadetach on every metadevice? what happens to the metadb
                 replicates?

Question #2: Could this be done without halting/rebooting the system to
                 be cloned?

Question #3: from a Netra T1 105 I would like to put the disk to an
e220r - do I have to think about thins regarding the
                 hardware differences?

    any help is appreciated,

    charlie
