profile issue on Solaris 8

    Hi Gurus,

    I have a problem with profile in Solaris 8.

    It behaves differently on two boxes. On one box if I run the profile it works fine but on other box it gives me an error:

    bash-2.03$ ./profile

    bash: ./.profile: cannot execute binary file

    bash-2.03$ echo $SHELL

    /bin/bash

     For testing I just added a line to .profile as below:

    Cat .profile

    SID=test

    If run the same .profile it works on Box1 but fails with above error on Box2. Both are running Solaris 8 and both users are having bash shell. However if I force #! /bin/sh in .profile it works on box1. Am I missing on Box1 which is causing not to work?

    Any pointer is greatly appreciated.
