NetApp (NFS) + Oracle RMAN problem

    dear managers,
    we are trying to use a large netapp nas, as an online backup staging for
    RMAN.
    What I mean is we have:
    System: Sparc Sunos 5.8, Oracle 9.2.05.
    on a netapp1-asd2:/vol/misc/rt-a001-rman exported to /rman

    When oracle is trying to write with rman on the exported directory,
    oracle freezes without any error message on the alert logs, and cannot
    be stopped (shutdown abort only).

    Sun, Oracle, and Fujitsu don't have any advice (we have some sparc
    fujitsu boxes, and we thought of giving it a try there too, since we
    have a service contract).

    If anyone has seen anything like this before, you know, help :)
    Mount options and system settings and all that are the recommended so I
    won't paste them inside this mail.
