SUMMARY: Can't boot a V440 from Solaris 9 cd kit

Thanks to everyone for the many speedy replies!
The answer is that we're using too old of a media kit--we need to use a
newer rev of the OS.
Two handy links that I recieved:
http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/SunFireV440/SunFireV440.html
has info on minimum supported OS versions for the machine
http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/9/index.xml has the 09/05 version of the
software for download.

Hi everyone,
We're trying to spin up a V440, booting with the solaris 9 cd's we used for
its predecessor (an E220r). It can't find the kernel on either the install
disk or the software #1 disk - do we need a special CD to boot it? We have
a V240 with the same problem - we just bought these and we need to get them
into prod asap, so any help would be much appreciated!
