IP Change and SunRays

Sun managers,
Last week I had to change the IP address from A Sun Server, Solaris 9 with
the SunRay Server 3.0 software running for SunRays.
IP Change was done through changing the etc/hosts, etc/netmasks and
etc/defaultrouter. The server was rebooted and was talking fine to the
internet and outside world.
But The SunRays never came up again... Changing (only) the IP back in the
etc/hosts file to the original entry made the SunRays come again.
Of course I know I could reconfigure the SunRay Server software, but that
means also that I have to register all SunRays as well as the cards used.
We have done IP changes before and I do not recall anything other then
changing above files.
Does anybody have an idea?
Thanks, Wim
