Interface issue on ultra-10

Hi ,
On ultra-10 machine ,i tried to plumb the interface at sngle
user-mode.
Its not geeting activate.
I use the following command to activate
the interface (hme0).
# ifconfig hme0 plumb
When i run
"watch-net" and "test net" Network status is ok at ">ok prompt " and
interface is ok.
Whats the problem ?
