Re: 2 subnet on 1 physical interface

Hello all and thanks for responding ;-)

I didn't explain everything :

This configuration will be for migration purpose, both subnet will be in the
same VLAN and my router will have a secondary IP.

So in fact what I need to know is if it is possible on sun to declare a
"secondary IP" that will be on the same VLAN (layer 2) than the first one
but in an other subnet (layer 3).

Even if it sounds strange Layer 2 is ethernet and there are no trouble to
put 2 different subnet on the same VLAN (try with a switch put 4 computer
separated on 2 different subnet, 1 and 2 will see each other on IP layer and
3 and 4 )

Thanks ! :)

Hello,

I am looking for a solution to put 2 IP adresses of 2 different subnet on
the same physical interface :

etc/hostname.ce0
192.168.0.1 netmask + broadcast + up
addif 10.0.0.1 netmask + broadcast + up

Is this going to work ?

If yes can I do something like :

*/etc/hostname.ce0*

*192.178.1.119 netmask + broadcast + group prod -failover deprecated up*

*addif* 192.178.1.120 netmask + broadcast + up

addif 192.178.1.121* netmask + broadcast + up*

*addif 10.98.7.224 netmask + broadcast + group prod2 -failover deprecated
up
*

*addif 10.98.7.220 netmask + broadcast + up*

*addif 10.98.7.222 netmask + broadcast + up*

**

*/etc/hostname.qfe0*

*192.178.1.78 netmask + broadcast + group prod -failover deprecated
standby
up*

*addif 10.98.7.226 netmask + broadcast + group prod2 -failover deprecated
standby up*

**

*Thanks !*
