Summary: NetApp and T2000 NFS question

Thanks to Alex Stade and Musa Williams for helping me resolve this
problem.

Apparently NFSv4 is the default for Solaris 10 and NFSv4 doesn't seem to
play well with the Network Appliance frames we have. So I made the
following changes to the /etc/default/nfs file:

#NFS_CLIENT_VERSMAX=4
NFS_SERVER_VERSMAX=3

This worked and we are no longer having the permission issues.

Cheers,

Jim

Subject: NetApp and T2000 NFS question

Good morning Managers,

We are experiencing a problem with one of our new T2K servers that we
just set up. We moved from a SunFire 480 running Solaris 9 to this new
T2K server. What we are experiencing is on the new T2K server, the
permissions for the NFS mounts from the NetApp filer are getting reset
to 700 permissions about every hour or so. There isn't any cron job set
up anywhere and the Tech folks from NetApp said that everything looks
good on their side. These NFS mount points from the NetApp are the same
ones that worked fine on Solaris 9 and are the same in the vfstab.

Has anyone seen anything like this in their environment before?

Here is the vfstab output:
